He died before my grandmother was born or right after she was born. She was born in March 1905. He is suppose to be buried at Peg Leg Kelly Vance's cemetery at Breeden. The 1850 and 1860 Patrick Co., VA censuses show that William and Joicy Tudor had a daughter by that name, but the 1870 Patrick Co., VA census does not show her as then living with them. In fact, it shows that she did not live in Patrick co., VA in 1870. I have learned that she married W.C. Hollensworth on March 20, 1867 (but this is unverified), so if this is correct, she and W.C. must have moved to West Virginia prior to 1870, then convinced the rest of her family to move there. I would be interested in knowing where you found her marriage date, her middle name, W.C.'s full name, as well as the source for your "Cutter" surname. Thanks for your help.

Descendants of 'Irish' John Alford are having a reunion in West Virginia. The reunion will be held at the Garretts Bend Community Center in Lincoln County, West Virginia, Saturday, August 11, 2001. The family was originally from Ireland and settled in the Rockingham and Augusta County areas of Virginia. Some descendants are still located in Virginia, while various branches settled in Monroe and Cabell/Lincoln County areas of West Virginia. Other descendants moved on to Missouri and from there to Oklahoma, Texas, California and Oregon. I have also been in touch with descendants who are in the Carolinas.
