I have not been able to fine out who his first wife was. He was born in lincoln County abt 1868. his 2nd wife's name was Jerrusha Elizabeth Adkins D/O James Adkins and Elizabeth Burns, she was born June 7, 1874 and died January 8, 1954. I found an old photo of Lafe & Rusha as she was called and a photo of their home on mud river. if any one can help me I would appreciate it . Their children's names were Henry,Andrew,Pheby(Phobe?),Samuel,Ida,Harvey,Florence, George A.,and Fletcher. Henry was my g-granfather. One of his daughters(Stella Gay)was my granmother...she married Ivory Bias(Lincoln County). Margaret Ann Marks b.1855 d. 1837 is also listed as being married to G.W.S. As she was only 11 yrs. old when he married Sarah, I am presuming that she was his last wife.Ancestry.com lists the names of children as Beulah,Emma,Mary,Martha,Perry,Smith,Otha,John, Sarah,Richard,and Clay.

Looking through my Zerkle genealogy I have found Reuben Zerkle born in 1853 Cabell Co. VA married to Susan Rebecca Adkins. Reuben's parents were George Washington Zirkle and Elizabeth Webb. I have two children that were born to Rueben, but no John E. Zirkle. I would like any information you have on John. The two children I have are George W. Zerkle and Mary Magdaline Zerkle - no birth dates for either one, but George died either young or as an infant on Sept 3rd 1885 in Logan Co. WVA. Mary married William Gilbert Lucas of Virginia (his mother was Virginia May Price). Mary and William had seven children: Bird Zirkle Lucas John Lucas Charley Lucas (who was killed by a train) Alice Ann Lucas Sarah Lucas Mary Lucas Ethel Lucas It sounds like this is the same Reuben Zirkle. Hi folks: I am looking for information on Adam Clarkson Monday b May 11, 1858 and Mary Ellen Dickison b February 01, 1869 married March 26, 1891 in Putnam County WV. They had one child Walter Earl b June 01, 1893. They may have lived at Woodville in Lincoln Co. Mary Ellen Dickison was born in Morrisvale I think. Adam Clarkson was born in Kanawah County.
