Does anyone have a list of burials at the Fairview Cemetery above the football field at Hamlin and the Lincoln Memorial above Gino's. Also, any records of burials at Branchland and Salt Rock. I know that my great grandparents, David E. Bowles and Fannie Elizabeth Holt Bowles was buried at Fairview but understand that trees and weeds have taken over the upper portion of the cemetery. Does anyone know of a person in the Hamlin area that my family can hire to clean up this part of Fairview. Terry Petrie Warner Robins, Ga.

Posted on: Lincoln County, WV Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/WV/Lincoln/10709 Surname: swanson, porter ------------------------- In the 1900 Lincoln Co. census Joseph and Lemma are listed with nine children. One is named Tilda, I assume that this is short for Matilda, who was b. Jan. 1883. If memory serves me correct Joseph and Lemma were married in Wayne Co., WV, but I am not sure. The Porter's moved to Wayne Co. just after the Civil war from Pike Co., KY, and then around 1883 most of the clan moved to Lincoln Co. where they settled on various farms. Hope this helps
