I think I can help you with the Meltons. It looks to me that the early Meltons in Kanawha County go back to William Melton b. abt 1750 and wife and Jane from Albemarle County. He and at least 3 of his 6 sons and families migrated to Kananwha. His son Benjamin had a son named Wilson.
