-------- Original Message -------- Subject: {not a subscriber} Kanawha County Clerk's Office Date: Thu, 7 Dec 2000 11:05:29 -0800 From: Cara Showers <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> I was wondering if any of you have had any success at all with getting records from the Kanawha County Clerk's Office. I've asked on numerous occsions for copies of birth and death certificates but have never had them send me anything. I'm wondering if I send them the actual volume and page number if they'll send me something. Before, I would just send them the person's name and the date of the event along with any other info I knew about the individual. Also I'm curious, if I send them a volume and page number, will they send me a copy of the page in the register book or do they send it in the form of a certificate? And if it's a certificate is it one that's typed up on an as needed basis or is there an original certificate with every birth/marriage/death. I know with the Monroe County Courthouse, they have original marriage certificates that were created on the day of the marriage. I'm wondering if Kanawha County has the same system or do they only have what's in their register books?
