I was in Charleston this past May and went to the State Vital Records office which had just moved into the old Diamond building. They could not accommodate me because of the move, but I left my orders and money. I received all but one death record. I had an uncle who died in the flu epidemic in Charleston in 1918 and they didn't have a record of his death. I am almost sure that all flu deaths were reported and recorded. What I would like to know is, in 1918 were deaths still being recorded by the county and not the state? Has anyone else had a non recorded death in 1918? Just need to know where to go from here. Thanks for any help. Betty in Idaho
