Might I suggest some things. These are things that tremedously helped me when I first started. First, if you don't get any quick responses from the queries, bare in mind a couple of things, either the ones who belong to the list are either busy due to holiday rush or perhaps they're attempting to look up some info for you and can't email you back until they have something. A lack of response could me there is no one looking or it could mean that the info you're requesting just takes a little longer to gather. Second, you might try petitioning the "Look-Up" volunteers on the Kanawha County GenWeb website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvkanawh/klookup.htm They are usually very happy to do a look up in a particular marriage book or census record. There is someone on there who will look up "some" of the districts in 1900, 1910, & 1920 Kanawha Co. censuses. This would be a great place to start. If you know his approximate birth year, find the census closest after his birth. He should be on there with his parents. There are a couple of people on there who have a marriage book that ranges from 1885-89. This might be of some help. Also, don't forget his siblings. If you can't find a marriage record for him, try one of his siblings marriage records. They might have his parent's names on their marriage liscense. Just thought I'd throw you a couple of things to think about. You might already know all of this, if so, just disregard my letter.
