My great-grandmother was Rebecca Jane Davis (b. 1849). She married George W. Martin (b. 1848). I'm trying to find out if she was related to these Davises. THOMAS DAVIS was born Abt. 1804, and died 1876 in Davis Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia. He married SARAH MEANS March 11, 1828 in Botetourt County, Fincastle, Virginia, daughter of HUGH MEANS and SARAH SNODGRASS. She was born 1811 in Botetourt County, Virginia, and died 1880 in Kanawha County, West Virginia. Notes: "Uncle Tommy Davis, " for whom Davis Creek was named. Tommy Davis was a famous local preacher, exhorter and revivalist in the Methodist church, and was killed by a rolling stone.
