Hello Everyone, On the 1900 Census - Washington District, Kanawha County, West Virginia 195-195 Clark, L. Jane, head, w, f, August 1841, 58, widow, WV, farmer Clark, Lorena B., granddaughter, w, f, 1890, 10, WV Lucy was the widow of Jesse Clark (b. abt. 1832 in Kanawha County, d. Bef. June 1, 1900). Lucy's parents were Frederick Parsons & Sarah Turley. I've got Jesse & Lucy as having 8 children. But on the 1910 Kanawha County Census it was noted that she had 9 children and 2 were dead. Children of Jesse Clark and Lucy Parsons are: i. William M. Clark, b. Abt. March 1860, Virginia; d. September 1, 1870, Washington District, Kanawha County, West Virginia. ii. Cynthia A. Clark, b. Abt. 1864, Virginia. iii. John Ira Clark, b. January 4, 1866, Kanawha County, West Virginia. iv. ? Child Clark, b. March 1, 1868, Alum Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia. (What was this child's name?) v. James Henry Clark, b. December 6, 1869, Ruth, Alum Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia; d. February 18, 1901, Washington District, Kanawha County, West Virginia; m. Della M. Riffe, September 16, 1898, Kanawha County, West Virginia; b. May 1882, Ruth, Kanawha County, West Virginia; d. March 1935, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia. vi. Mary E. Clark, b. Abt. 1872. vii. Geneva A. Clark, b. February 2, 1873, Alum Creek, Kanawha County, West Virginia. viii. Lieuvena Clark, b. July 1876, West Virginia; m. John Martin, Abt. 1900; b. February 1876, Kentucky; d. Unknown. Does anyone know anything about a Lorena Clark? Who's daughter was she? I know she was not a daughter of James Henry Clark. Maybe she was a daughter of John Ira Clark or the missing child. Or possibly she was one of Jesse & Lucy's daughters? Living next door to Lucy J. Clark and her granddaughter during the 1900 Kanawha County Census was Albert Brogan, m, w, January 1869, 31, married 8 years, WV. and family. There is some connection between the Clarks and Brogans but I've not exactly put the lines together yet.
