Hi List, Although I've answered everyone personally I'd like to say thank you again for the replies I received concerning James Light. Several people sent the following: Kanawha County, WV Marriage Record (from book by WV Genealogical Society) Married September 23, 1856 by William Gilbert James LIGHT age 23 single, born Randolph, Indiana, s/o Enoch & Polly Light, farming Nancy Jane WINDON age 18 single, born Greenbrier Co, d/o Wm. & Elizabeth Windon I now know that Enoch Light and Mary "Polly" Kelly had four daughters born in (West) Virginia, and four sons - Elijah born in (W)VA and the 3 youngest James, Henry, and Andrew born in Indiana. After Polly's death Enoch returned to Fayette County from Indiana. I don't know if the all the sons came at the same time but they did all end up in the Kanawha and Fayette area. The girls married in the 1840s in lived in Indiana, Missouri, and Oregon. I'd like to know if James Light is listed as being born in Randolph Co., Indiana, and if he was the son of Enoch Light and Mary "Polly" Kelly. I've located James in the 1850-1870 census and he is consistently listed as born in Virginia. Cannot find the family in 1880. Don't have an index for 1900 that would help in my search.
