Hi all, I am just starting some Civil war reserach and would like to request suggestions and/or assitance. I have been advised that some of my LEGG family ancestors were in the 8th and 16th VA Cavalry (Confederate). And subsequent research indicates that at least one was (possibly) in Co A, 7th WV Cavalry (Union). Does anyone out there have any specific info or done research on either of these units or their members? I have already found a few websites dealing with these units. But the information provided was naturally very general in nature and limited. 'Would appreciate any suggestions or assistance in getting started with this branch of genealogy research.
