    3. I posted this back in Dec and was wondering why I never heard anything from anyone, so I went to the website to see if I could find it and it was never posted. I'm having troubles with my email address, I hope this doesn't annoy anyone if you've seen it before. I am trying to find descendants of the individuals below. They are all children of John George HACKNEY and Murial Agnes LOISEAU HACKNEY. They were all born, married and died in Kanawha County, WV. These people are all related to me by Murial's brother Harry. I am a descendant of Harry's. I am hoping to connect with either the individual's below or their children or perhaps grandchildren. I'm attempting to bridge the two families back together. I'm hoping to find some long lost cousins. So any help any one of you can give me on any one of these individuals and/or their descendants would be greatly appreciated. Beulah G. 1. [WVKANAWH] Guardianship Bond
    2. Cara Showers
    3. Last night I was searching through some microfilm I've rented through the local LDS of some Kanawha Co. Bonds when I came across something I don't understand. I was thinking maybe I could run it past you guys and see if anyone knows what it is. The bond said: ----------------------------------------------------------- Known to all men by these presents that we, MARGARET J. THOMAS and JAMES W. GREGORY are held and firmly bound unto the State of West Virginia, in the just sum of $200.00 to the payment thereof, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and sereally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 6th day of May, 1874. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above bound MARGARET J. THOMAS hath this day been by the Clerk of the county Court of Kanawha County, appointed Guardian of her infant children. Viz. Mary M. Thomas aged 13 years, Oscar Thomas aged 8 years, infant children of Henry R. Thomas deceased late of said county. Now, therefore, if the said, MARGARET J. THOMAS, shall well, truly and faithfully perform all the duties as Guardian of aforesaid, as required by law. Signed MARGARET J. THOMAS and JAMES W. GREGORY. ----------------------------------------------------------- Now, what I can gather from the above is that Margaret's husband, Henry, passed away earlier that year and probably the two kids inhereted $200 in their father's will but because they are not of age, Margaret took out the bond to insure the kids would get their inheretance when they were older. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The one thing I'm most curious about is why is James W. Gregory on the bond? James is my g-g-grandfather and I do not know who the Thomas's are. I've never heard of Margaret or Henry or their children before. Why would James be on here? What is his purpose? -- Cara Showers Anchorage, Alaska [email protected] Volunteer of Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness at http://raogk.rootsweb.com

    3. To the owner of the WVKANAWHA rootsweb. I have just notice in the past couple day a change in the format of incoming messages from the digest. As it was in the past, any incoming message showed the WVKANAWHA in the subject line and was recognizable as a safe message to open and read. The last few coming in does not reflect this and therefore I have to save them to disk, identify them and scan with anti virus. Has something changed on your end? Thanks for looking into this. Tim

    3. Hello Everyone, I wanted to check with the list to see if anyone had any information on a Gladys Runion, daughter of Elijah Runion and Ida Mae Schoolcraft? I am hoping to find some information on my grandfather's second family. I have no dates other than Elijah and Ida married in the late1800's or early 1900's. They possibly lived in the Rock Creek area. Also, I am hoping someone on the list can recall a William or Matthew Runion who worked on the Railroad? I think it was in the late 30's or early 1940's, possibly even as late as the 1960's. If anyone has any information, I would deeply appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Juanita
