Looking for the relatives (Parents & Siblings) of Alonzo B. FORD, my GGG Grandfather, b. 1821 in Cabell Co. (?), VA. First find him in Cabell in the 1844 Personal Property Tax (PPT) listings and next in Kanawha Co., VA in 1847 in the PPT listings. He gets married in Kanawha to Susan FERGUSON (first she was married to a Dr. LEWIS and lived in Indiana and had two Children with him) in 1848. Alonzo was identified in the Census records as a Boatsman. He and Susan died in Charleston, WV in Kanawha Co., WV in 1901/1900. They appeared in the 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 and 1900 Censuses for VA/WV. They had many Children (Among them Richard, a Boatsman, and Susan, my GG Grandmother b. 1857 in Kanawha). I believe Susan FERGUSON and Alonzo FORD were born in Cabell close to the Kanawha Co. line (the part that became Putnam Co., VA in 1847), as there are a lot of FORDs and FERGUSONs there and at least one Richard FORD. Hello ALL, I've had no luck with locating anyone who can help with the Kanawha County census for the years 1900, 1910, 1920. I also need to find a Kanawha County marriage record for 1907, possibly a "delayed" filing. The next thing to try seems to be to write either via "snail mail" or "e-mail" to a county agency (e.g. the court house) for these records as I am located in Wisconsin and cannot make the trip in person. Edmund Glover and sons of the same name were in Buckingham County, Va. in late 1700's through mid 1800's(2-3 generations).Posting(s) on Genealogy.com mentioned a Thomas Glover as a son of the eldest Edmund Glover(1751-1814). My Thomas Glover was born around 1812 and married in 1837 to the daughter of Samuel Bocock in neighboring Bedford County. Edmund Glover's son Edmund is listed on the same page in an 1830 census listing as Samuel Bocock's brother John Bocock in Buckingham County. My Thomas Glover was in Kanawha County censuses in 1840/1860, Gallia County Ohio in 1850, Mason County WV in 1870. His son Samuel G. Glover was in Kanawha or Putnam County censuses in 1860 and 1870 and in Gallia County Ohio from 1880 through 1920 Soundex. I received a picture from a co-worker of a Howard Williams and his wife Nancy Belle ???? If anyone has these in their line, please let me know and I will scan the picture and send it to you. I don't know much about them. I think Howard died in the mid to late 1950's and Nancy a few years later. They are buried in Schultz Cemetery, Spring Hill, Kanawha County, WV.
