I've "rescued" an old photograph of a home in Houghton, MI which "Edyth" sent to "Mother" on a postcard which was addressed to Mrs. B. E. WEBB at 1003 5th Avenue in St. Albans, WV in August 1937. Edyth indicates that "this is the place we live in". Based on research I was able to gather the following information regarding this family: Benton Eugene WEBB was b. 23 May 1884 in St. Albans, WV to parents William Francis WEBB (1849-1926) and Mary Anna MORRIS (b. 1876) of St. Albans. Benton was one of five children born to this couple including, John V.; Cora Lee; Daniel W.; Benton Eugene; and Dana A. WEBB, all born between 1876 and 1895. Benton married twice, first to Bertha Tempest WILLIAMS (1888-1946) with whom he had a daughter Georgene or Georgena A. or Putnam WEBB (1910-1980) and son Walker Kendall WEBB (1907-1987). His second wife was Edyth Elizabeth WEBB (1896-1977). Benton and Edyth had a daughter, Mary Frances WEBB (1917-1999). Benton died 26 Jun 1954 and is buried in the Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV. Edyth Elizabeth was b. 23 Jul 1896 and died 20 Nov 1977 in South Charleston, WV and is buried along with her husband. Census records provide the following details: 1930 census of St. Albans, WV: Eugene B. WEBB, age 43, married at age 29, born WV, parents born WV, a Railroad Conductor Edith B. WEBB, wife, age 33, married at age 19, born WV, parents born WV/Italy Mary Frances WEBB, dau, age 12, born WV, parents born WV 1940 census of St. Albans, WV: Eugene B. WEBB, age 56, born WV, a Railroad Conductor Edith E. WEBB, wife, age 44, born WV Mary Frances WEBB, son, age 22, born WV I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. Cora appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Cora and her family: Cora SAVAGE was b. 13 or 15 Jan 1867 in Jackson, OH to parents Jesse Stilman SAVAGE (1835-1917) and Louisa DETTY (1839-1921). Hi Brian,I do not know the area but just have a suggestion. You might send an inquiry to the cemetery. IT appears to be a rather large cemetery so it might have an office. If so, there should be a listing of all the graves and hopefully it tells who is interred there. I assume you have checked faindagrave.com. But with unmarked graves, it would just be someones knowledge of who might be buried there. Happy to see someone on this list! The physical address is 2-98 Mooring Way 25671. Hi all, I’m not sure if this is even active anymore, but I could use some advice. I’m trying to figure out the best way to get in contact with the Rummel Cemetery in Pinch. I’m trying to find someone who might hold actual plot record information for the cemetery, as they have many unmarked graves, which I am thinking contain some of my family members. Any thoughts would be good. I did try to reach out to Hafer funeral home to see if they would have that information, as they had a burial there not long ago. No word back yet. I am looking for an obituary for Willis Coleman Wallace. Williis was born in Fayette County on Feb. 27, 1909 and according to the SSDI, died in Kanawha County on Oct. 23, 1981. Willis was the son of James Harry Wallace and Emma Spearen but was raised in Kanawha County by Emma's three sisters, Jeannette, Margaret and Alice Spearen after the deaths of his parents in about 1910. The sisters also raised Willlis' sister, Nettie Wallace and his brother, John Wallace. I have been unable to find marriage records for none of the 3 siblings but according to the 1942 city directory of Charleston, Willis was married to a woman named Pauline. John's wife may have been named Beulah and I know for a fact, Nettie's husband was named Baker, but again, I cannot locate marriage records for none of the siblings. Say that is great. I had seen mention of when he went to Kanawha Church. But "went" could mean several things, including probable just a visit in this case? This Rev John Alderson, Jr was a fascinating guy. He is not related to us but he and his 2 grandfathers led congregations W and founded new Bapt churches from England, to NJ, Montgomery & Bucks Cos, PA, Shenandoah Co, VA and on to Alderson, Greenbrier Co, WV where he d 1821. Our GEORGE was among his followers in Bucks Co, PA [& maybe before?]to Greenbrier. Must have been magnetic guy! But by following him, I have added 2 new GEORGE grandfathers and some unknown gms!
