William Warren Franklin b 31 Jan 1909, Newport Ohio and died 06 May 1971 Warren, Trumbull, Ohio. Married Verla Ustina Runser on 07 Apr 1930 in Winchester VA. Verla died 17 Nov 1999 Phoenix, Maricopa, AZ. They had 2 children, Robert (Buddy) and my mother, Dorothy, who is still living and doing well. Buddy and my Dad were working at the Copperstate Mill when the men went on strike and they went to Trent Michigan to work at the steelmill there. He was killed on 25 Apr 1950 but they brought his body back and he is buried beside Bill & Verla at the Champion Cemetery in Bazetta. Carl Runser, Verla's brother is also there. I have copy of Etta and Cornelius' marriage record. Bill & Verla were really nice people and just fantastic grandparents. Bill worked at Copperstate most of his life. Ada was Ada Shupe, she and Cornelius married 09 Jun 1909 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Massillion. They divorced on 19 December 1929 in Canton after she had left in 1923. They had 4 children, Ada, Carl, Verla and then a baby, Ruth, who was stillborn, my grandmother believes that was what caused Ada's leaving as she left within 6 months of the baby's birth/death. My Grandpa Cornelius was an extremely outgoing happy guy who worked really hard on the farm, with his son Carl. My gma said he married Etta Dye and that everyone in the family loved her. They were married on 07 Jan 1936. Gpa Cornelius remarried on 20 Apr 1950 but that lasted less than a year and no one really like her. Ada married twice again, A Frank Hoover, divorced him on 07 Nov 1942 - I can't find the marriage date so if you can find that, I would appreciate getting it. Third husband was Earl Knight who she married 01 Jun 1943 and he supposedly hung himself around 1955 but the only Earl Knight obituary or death I located doesn't indicate he was married to Ada or that he committed suicide. I'd like to find the information on that. Ada died, as Ada Knight on 12 Jun 1962 and is buried at Brookfield Cemetery in Massillion beside her parents the Shupes. Cornelius is found in the 1910 census in Massillion and shows him as 29, Ada 22 with their daughter Ada and his brother Edward, 14. I can email you a copy when I'm home. My biggest query right now is Cornelius' grandfather Peter Runser. He died on 21 Dec 1874 in Perry Township and had settled in Stark County by 1840. He married Anna Marie Allas. There is an excellent obituary on Anna but I cannot find anything on Peter's death in the Massillion paper and have no idea how to find out if there were any German papers when he died. Peter was one of the founders of St. Mary's CHurch, although Peter and Anna were married at St. Peters Church in Canton. Anyhow, pretty long reply. If you would like to send me your email, I can get some information I have to you.
