Going by memory here, the only one of their children that I know of who ended up in KS was their son Wm. Shields. My gr. gr grandmother was Matilda Shields, she was with Wm. Shields in the 1850 Jackson Census as Matilda Pierce, she later married Martin D. McCarty, Matildas daughter Sarah Ann Byrnes was my gr. grandmother. email me directly if you want more info.
