Shockey, 69, of Parkersburg, WV, died February 27, 2005, at Marietta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 11, 1935, in Ravenswood, WV, son of the late Harry Gordon and Maudie Ethel Taylor Shockey. He was formerly employed by Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, the Jackson County Board of Education, and Cannalco of Hannibal, Ohio. He was self-employed in the trucking industry at the time of his retirement. Ivan was a member of the Lost Pavement Church of Christ in Parkersburg, where he led singing in services for many years prior to his illness. Surviving is his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Shook Shockey, Parkersburg; one daughter, Missy Reeder and her husband Randy, Parkersburg; one son, Dwight, Weston, WV; and daughter-in-law, Melinda Shockey, Washington, WV; brothers, Robert Shockey, Ravenswood; and Glen Shockey, Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Angela Price and husband Trevor, Canton, OH; Carrie Bays and husband Anthony, Vienna, WV; Jason Reeder, Parkersburg, and his fiance, Andrea Conover, Beavercreek, OH; Nathan Shockey, Washington, WV; and Erika Brady and husband Quentin, Washington, WV; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Katelyn Price, Jackson Bays, and a fifth great grandchild due in March. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Bill and Cleon Shockey. Services were held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Evangelist Daniel Ruegg officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery.
