I am a Historian for the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and I have many documents concerning the "bushwhacker" named "Devil Bill" Parsons Gilmer/Calhoun County area. He was widely known in central (West) Virginia, unfortunately as a ruthless Yankee hater, and was accused of crimes and murders against unionists and Federal Soldiers. I will be glad to cite the documents I have on this matter. I do hope he isn't the same person you refer to. As for the Parsons matter, this data was given to me by several sources and apparently you have documentation to prove otherwise. I would like to see this, since some of mine are from Revolutionary War Pensions, family histories, etc., Parsons was not a direct line of mine but an allied family.
