Merical Run is not in my particular "nick of the woods," but,for some reason, i feel that these are two separate items. In the same manner, here in Greenbrier County, we have Wades Draft (hollow) and Wades Creek which are near fairly near each other but are separate. One would assume that Wades Creek runs through Wades Draft, but it dosen't. But, we are talking about Mericals and I was merely using the GNIS Data base which is normally accaurate enough for me to continue to place a fair ammount of confidence in it. It's better than having nothing at all and i have used it extensivly in searching for old schools. Speaking of old schools, it seems that,according to the GNIS Data Base and the West Virginia Gazetteer (can't spell worth a darn), when it comes to listing schools, not all counties are created equal. While some counties are listed with many, some are listed with just a few. It's a little frustrating so I have to watch for them in all the unexected places.
