Were your ancestors married in Mason County, WV? Three years ago, Clearfield Co., division of Genealogical Publishing Co., Baltimore, MD, published my compilation of the 11,000+ earliest marriages in Mason Co., from 1806-1915. It has been out of print for more than a year. I have arranged a special reprint with the publisher, to make the book available to those who want a copy, or want to place a copy in their local library's, or genealogical society's, collection. But there is an order deadline, which has been extended to Labor Day, and a printing minimum of 30. My apologies to all listmembers and list owners; I realize I am violating Rootsweb's rules, in even mentioning this; but, to make the information available before the deadline, I know of no other way to "get the word out." If we don't get orders for 30 books, then no one gets any books. I will make no profit on this, as I will assume the postage expense, and will autograph each book ordered. If there is a rule against this, it was made to be broken. How many other great books are floating around that we might like, and have no knowledge of? I think it would be a great service to have these privately published books listed on the county (and neighboring counties) rootsweb sites, along with any books the local Genealogy/Historical societies have for sale.
