Sandra: The book Jackson County Past and Present does have a section on the Lloyd family. It states that the Lloyd family came to Virginia in 1623 and were descendants of Elystan Glodrypdd (Welsh spelling of Lloyd), Prince of Ferlys, the territory of Wales. It states that William Henry Lloyd (1813-), son of Thomas and Anna Lloyd, and brother to William, married Nancy Hite (11/13/1836) Wood County..............Listed in the 1850 census as living in Henry and Anna's house hold were son *Henry 5 years old, brother William, who married (11/17/1859) Elizabeth, daughter of Martin and Nancy Jane Ridenour, and son William Jr. seven years old (1843). In another section it states that in 1852 brothers Joseph and William Lloyd came from England and purchased 90 acres of land from the Virginia government. The land they purchased bordered on the Washington tract..............William Lloyd and his wife Elizabeth deeded their share of the property to Nehemiah S Lloyd May 29, 1886, Deed book 29, Page 284, for the 90 acres. This is a portion of what is listed, Hope this helps, Debi (Casto) Sanders Sandra wrote: > I would be very interested in a book. My family were from Jackson > County.
