He was born on February 27, 1944, in Mason County, WV, a son of the late Oma Gladys Chapman. He was a 20 plus year firefighter with the Ravenswood Fire Department. Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Chapman, Ravenswood; sons, Henry Chapman and Tony Chapman, both of Ravenswood; grandson, Damien Chapman, Williamstown, WV; sister, Jarvis Staats, Flat Rock, WV; and a brother, Joe Cobb, Glenwood, WV. Services were held on Saturday, July 23, 2005, at 12:00 noon at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Charlie Langdon of Mason County officiating. Burial followed in the Pete Meadows Cemetery in Mason County. Friends visited the Chapman family at the funeral home on Saturday, July 23, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, time of service.
