Fields who was born in Russell County, Virginia. My interest was in finding out his full name and I had wished for a response from a blood descendent. My query was responded to by several individuals and I was informed that his middle initial was 'B' and that he was born in Tazewell County, Virginia and that was incorrect. I was also advised; that is how it is reflected on a re-created 'Jackson County' 1870 Census and so for me, that places any other contents on that re-creation as questionable. One must always remember that incorrect data added to a Family Tree will surely infect other Trees regardless of the source. On the National Census Film for Russell County, Virginia in 1850, he is listed as William H. Fields, he did have an Uncle with the name William B. Fields. He came to the now WV Area in the early 1850's. West Virginia became a state in 1860 and their first National Census was taken in 1870 and he is listed on that Census as William and no middle initial and in 1880 also in Jackson County, he is listed only as Wm.
