    3. Hi fellow researchers. I've just created a website to house my Jackson County Pioneer Project. I am attempting to connect as many of the early families as possible. So far, everyone in my database is connected - I think. There's 14,000+ people there. They are not limited to people who lived in Jackson county or even WV. My husband's family is there, but he has links in WV, even though his direct ancestors were stupid enough to settle on the wrong side of the River. :) (I can say that since I [blush] was also born on the wrong side, in Ohio.) Please check it out http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~bbriggs/index.htm I've posted a "corrected" 1850 census of Jackson county - "corrected" because when I transcribed it for the USGenWeb Census Project last year, I had to retain the spelling, errors and all. Since then, several people have written to tell me of errors, and I hope I have made all of those corrections, as well as a bunch that I knew of when I was doing it. If you find more, please let me know! I am going to link the names on the census to the names in the database. I still have some work to do on the database before I can include my notes, which include a lot of info. The reason is that I have copied notes from other people's websites, etc, and in addition to that stuff being copyrighted, it is hardly fair to give the impression that it is my work! Once I have deleted it, I will change the database to include my notes. The 1840 Census of Jackson County is transcribed and I will probably have it online very shortly. I would like to also include all of John House's "Pioneers of Jackson County" -one of these days. :) This is an ongoing project, but I felt that I had enough that it was time to make it available to the rest of you. If you find errors, please let me know, and please give me the source for the correction. I have tried to source all of my data, but I know that it is woefully inadequate. If you have info you'd like added, send it on to me. My goal is to link everyone who lived in Jackson County between 1796 and 1850, but that includes the descendants. This is not a request for information - I am not simply collecting names. I am trying to construct the spiderweb that was Jackson county relationships. If you have a website that has Jackson County folks and would like to link to mine, just send me the URL. Enjoy! Betty
