Raymond John Bell, Sr., 72, of Sandyville, WV, departed this life July 26, 2001 at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV, following a brief illness. He was born March 7, 1929 a son of the late John Clifford and Elizabeth Helen (Dushl) Bell. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a retired asbestos installer, and a member of the Asbestos Local #24 in Washington D.C. Survivors include sons, Christopher Michael Bell of Baltimore, MD, and George Bell of Washington D.C.; daughter, Tammy Comer of White Plains, MD; sister, Esther Bell of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Raymond Virgil Comer and Heather Hockett; long time friends, with whom he made his home, Francis and Gail Rectenwald of Sandyville, Jeff and Karen Smith of Ravenswood, and Mike and Diane Cashman of Altoona, Pa. Service and burial will be in the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. There will be no local service or visitation. Arrangements by Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV.
