Elizabeth Mae "Lizzy" Rhodes, of Ripley, WV, departed this life, Friday, June 15, 2001, in the Ravenswood Center, following a brief illness, at the age of 105 years, 9 months, 13 days. She was born, September 2, 1895 in Gay, WV, a daughter of the late, John Wesley and Agnes (Rhodes) Greenleaf. She was a homemaker and a protestant. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and working crossword puzzles. Survivors include a son, Bob Rhodes of Chicago, IL; daughter, Ruby Casto of Nitro; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rhodes; sons, Wayne Hudson, Paul Hudson, Arrol Hudson; daughters, Belva Rhodes, Reva Wilson; brother, Willie Greenleaf; sisters, Rosie Rhodes and Josephine Price. Service will be Tuesday, June 19, 2001-- 2 pm at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with the Rev. Gerald B. Sayre officiating. Burial will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, WV. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to service.
