Joyce, The county poor farm was located on Big Mill Creek west of Ripley(US 33) in Union District of Jackson County. It was purchased in 1871 and used until the late 30's when the Public Assistance Law was passed. The county still owns this land and it is used for a County Animal Shelter and County Fair Grounds. It is also used for horse shows, gospel sings and family reunions. Our Rhodes Family have their reunion there every year. JoAnn Rhodes Jones > Hi.
