He was born in Raleigh, NC, on May 23, 1984, son of Tim and Denise Smirz Cox. He was a student at Ripley High School and a participant in the Special Olympics. He is survived by his parents, Tim and Denise Cox, Ravenswood, WV; a sister, Tracy Cox, at home; a brother, Keith Cox, at home; grandmothers, Dorothy Smirz,Cleveland, Ohio, and Dorothy Cox, Ravenswood, WV; several uncles, aunts, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Frank Smirz and Charles Cox, and a sister, Elaine Cox. A Celebration of Bryans' life will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Ravenswood, WV, with Rev. Darrel Gooden officiating. Friends may visit at the church one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bryan's memory to the Jackson County Special Olympics, Route 3, Box 204G, Sandyville, WV 25275. So that others may live, Bryan was an organ donor.
