He was born May 22, 1907, at Parkersburg, WV, a son of the late John and Drusilla (Province) Allman. He was formerly a salesman for Ravenswood Wholesale Grocery Company and he was a farmer. He was the former owner and operator of The Candy Man in Ravenswood. He was a member of North United Methodist Church of Ravenswood, where he served in numerous capacities, including lay leader, deacon, Sunday school teacher and member of the building committee. He is survived by sons, Ronald Allman of Ravenswood and Austin Allman of Ravenswood; daughter, Dorothy Mason of Marmora, NJ; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ora Jones Allman, his second wife, Virginia Nesselroad Allman, a son, Donald Allman, and four brothers, Zeb Allman, Brady Allman, Wilford Allman and Denzil Allman. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 22, 2001--11:00 am, at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Michael Curtis officiating. Burial will follow in Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 9 pm, Friday, at the funeral home.
