Some of it varies a bit depending on who researched and entered it into the system. Please go to the free site ROOTSWEB. Punch in "Charity Coon" without an s on the end. After hitting "search" scroll down to "world connect". There have 80 listings over 4 pages of ladies by that name . Most of them are your Charity. The best stuff is on page 3 of the 4 pages. Henry's name is with hers so you just have to click on him to learn a lot. Henry was born in 1762 in Hesse, Germany and died 1827 in Berlin, Lewis Co. wv. He married Charity Sep 25 1794 in Harrison Co. One source says he was a Hessian soldier hired by King George to fight the colonists in the Rev war and he chose to come over to the Americans and another source says he fought for us all along. Charity was born in 1768 or 1760 and died in 1872 in Roane co. Buried in Pleasant Valley Cem. on Lick Fork near a little place called Zona near Harmony. She was living with ! her daughter named Charity and her husband Stephen Starcher. She was well over 100 when she died. She was born either in Philadelphia or on the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel. The ROOTSWEB site also lists the parents and names their 12 kids. Charity's Dad was listed as having died at Coon's Fort in Marion Co. The site also details some books and magazine articles which deal with both families' history. This was a very interesting search. If you get tangled up with ROOTSWEB yell and we'll figure out a way to get you the stuff. The good stuff on page 3 is about in the middle of the page.
