He was born on February 10, 1922, in Ripley, WV, a son of the late Thomas and Nellie Keebaugh Hite. He married Frances Lucille Bourgeois on June 8, 1946. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the 806th Medical Air Evacuation Squadron in England, France and Germany as a Flight Technician. He received the Bronze Star for his outstanding service. He was a member of the Flatwoods United Methodist Church; an FFA honorary member, Ripley, Ravenswood, and National FFA member; Jackson County Junior Fair member; helped with 4-H Club; and past member of the U.B. Church. He worked for JCo Lumber in Ravenswood for 30 years, and was also a farmer. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Frances Lucille Bourgeois Keebaugh, Ravenswood; daughters, Virginia (William) Skinner, Chicago, IL; Juanita Burgess, Ravenswood; Opal Keebaugh, Ripley; and Ruth (Pat) Grimmett, North Carolina; sons, Kenny Ray (Patsy) Keebaugh, Ravenswood; and Wilmer (Pat) Keebaugh, Ripley; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Faye) Bourgeois; sisters, Irene Ivey, St. Louis, MO; Arlene Sayre, Ripley; Edith Weeks, Florida; Anna Conant, Akron, OH; Norene Hite, Ripley; Naomi B. Fisher, Ripley; Norma B. (Charlie) Cutlip, Ripley; and Sandra (Lawrence) Johnson, Hendersonville, TN; 3 best friends, Carl Starkey, Ed Smolder, and Tim Somerville; sisters-in-law, Catherine Bourgeois, Ravenswood; and Cora Bourgeois, Ripley; numerous 4-H and FFA kids; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Hite and Ira Abraham Hite; a baby sister; grandson, Christopher J. Skinner; and brothers, James and William! Bourgeois. Services were held on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Cottageville, WV, in the McDonald Building, with Reverend Gerald Sayre officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Calvary Cemtery in Ripley, with graveside military rites provided by American Legion Post 107, Ripley. Friends visited the family at the fairgrounds on Friday, August 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the McDonald Building.
