I went to world connect at roots web and found more information, I am like you, I can't stop doing this genealogy thing and I am ignoring my work to do it. It is so much fun on the computer. I do have a sizeable amount of information on the older Fitzhughs, check out this great book, William Fitzhugh and his Chespeake World, the Fitzhugh genealogy is all there, and I made several copies of pages that pertained to my side. I special ordered the book from my local library and check out at the library the book, in fact I am thinking about reordering the book, William Fitzhugh and his Chespeake World again, and copying the whole book! Truthfully, I was doing genealogy on the Kemp side and though that I might get a good lead on the Fitzhugh side, and I am always open to new informatin as you can never have enough, maybe one day I should compile it all together in a book. Seriously, I do write genealogy books, and i have written three, self published two, and wrote three unpublished novels, but my problem I like to play on the computer and this genealogy thing has hooked me, and I put off doing my work and do genealogy, it is so much fun you never know what you will find. LIke a box of chocolates, never know what you will find. I will go to yahoo.com and see what is running up there. Last night until two am I was at world connect looking up my Kemp's, Thank you so very much. I found that my great great grandmother, Sarah Letticia Kemp, had two brothers that I did not know about, Thomas B. Kemp and Daniel L. Kemp, and both fought in the Civil War. I have a strong hunch that they may have been killed as I remember my grandmother saying that the reason she did not like President Lincoln was because he made all her people in Virginia and WEst Virginia go to war and they lost everything. There were hard feelings there. Then two summers ago when I was doing research for a federal judge in Washington D.C., I went to the Ford Theather and the house across the street, and on the staris looking out over the back garden, I said to the lady with me, "I never liked President Lincoln," and she was taking a picture of the back garden and when we developed the picture, there was a very large bright light, a! nd she said "YOu must have woken up his spirit" Thank you very very much and have a great day, and a Happy Fourth of July, =kitty cat Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
