I have a question. Before West Virginia became a State what county of Virginia was Jackson in.. Is there a Rootsweb site for that county. Still Looking for my GGrandfather Thomas Lloyd. Sandy

Jackson County was formed in 1831 and it is still the same county, even though the state split off from Virginia. There is no reason for a separate site for it before WV became a state - can you imagine the confusion, not to mention how much research would be duplicated? It's bad enough to try to figure out which county someone lived in when new counties were formed! Which Thomas Lloyd? Do you have dates, wife, children, etc?
