She was born August 18, 1914, in Logan County, WV, a daughter of the late Walter and Leah (Varney) Thomas. She was a former Post Master and a former employee of Slavens Department Store, Ravenswood. She was a member of the Kaiser-Douglas Church of Christ of Ravenswood, and enjoyed sewing and reading. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Janet Queen of Scottsdale, Arizona, a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Roger Westfall of Ravenswood, grandchildren, Beverli, Gwendolyn and Matthew, great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Jamie, Hunter, Kloe, Katie and MacKenzie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irelan Queen, sisters, Inez, Martha, Mary and Ida, and brother, Arnold. Funeral services were Monday, January 24, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at Casto Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Minister Ben Jones officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home.
