He was born February 8, 1944, in Cinderella, WV, a son of Thomas T. Thompson, Sr. of Ripley and the late Lucille (Marcum) Thompson. He was a truck driver for Dover of Parkersburg. Survivors include his wife, Renate (Sayre) Thompson; sons, James Ray Thompson of Beckley and Thomas Ray Thompson of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Frances Darlene Thompson of Spencer and Amy Michelle Thompson of Tucson, AZ; stepsons, James Wilkins and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ravenswood and Todd Jennings Smith of Ravenswood; step-daughter, Amy Smith Feaster of Martinsburg, WV; sister, Judy Lynn Preston of Mingo County, WV; step-brother, Harold Preston of Jamestown, OH; eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Verna Thompson, and a brother, Donald Thompson. Burial were in the Thompson Family Cemetery in Mingo County, WV.
