Stalnaker, 92, of Ripley, WV, departed this life December 23, 2004 in Eldercare of Ripley. She was born January 23, 1912 in Cowen, WV, a daughter of the late Charles and Leola (Woods) Starcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Everett A. Stalnaker, a brother, and two sisters. She was a former hostess for the Rose City Cafeteria in Charleston, former co-owner of Stalnaker Diner in Ripley, a former clerk for Fields’ 5 and 10 in Ripley, and a former dispatcher for the Jackson County Sheriffs’ Office. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Everette S. and Brenda Stalnaker of Ripley; grandson, Charles E. “Chuck” Stalnaker of Murraysville; great grandson, Charles E. “Chaz” Stalnaker, II of Ripley. Service was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 25, 2004 at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, WV, with the Rev. Rick Perrine officiating. Burial was in the Fairplain Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff at Eldercare of Ripley.
