She was born on April 23, 1931, in Jackson County, (the community of Hemlock), a daughter of the late Otmer W. and Mayme Rector Salser. She was a Tuber Operator at BF Goodrich of Marietta. She was a member of the Sandyville Church of Christ, and a member of the AFL-CIO. She enjoyed ceramics, fishing, and her grandchildren. Surviving is her husband, Gene DeWitt, of the home; children, Rita Hill and husband Douglas, Clearwater, FLA; Douglas Angus and wife Joyce, Millwood, WV; Norse Angus and wife Sherri, and Terry Angus and wife Rennie, all of Ravenswood; and Joseph Angus and wife Rina, Barboursville, WV; stepchildren, Dr. Michael DeWitt and wife Carla, Teays Valley, WV; Bonnie Hill and husband Hope, Tera Alta, WV; and Lonnie "Buck" DeWitt and wife Debbie, New Port Richie, FLA; brothers and sisters, James Salser and wife Mary, Inez Crow, and Phyllis Palmer, all of Ravenswood; Betty Shockey and husband John, Harold Salser and wife Janice, and Robert Salser, all of Fairborn, Ohio; Ruth Thompson and husband John, and Eilene Weekley and husband Dennis, all of Ravenswood; 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Duane, and brother-in-law, Robert DeWitt. Services were held on Saturday, May 14, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Minister Jonathan Leininger officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery.
