When in the union army, he was taken prisoner. He was in Libby Prison,in Richmond,Virginia, survived that only to be shot dead in his later life in Mason City helping a friend to get his daughter's furniture from her home.(A domestic situation. The friend was also shot dead. Everett White was the shooter. A lynching was feared, but later in July 1909 White was convicted of second degree murder. I want to find out what happened to White. Did he go to The notorious Moundsville Prison? I have had no luck. My line goes from James A. to his son, Charles T.Rayburn, to his daughter Mary Elizabeth Rayburn to her son Erwin B.Gloeckner who is my father. Thanks JB
