He was born on June 28, 1907, in Calhoun County, WV, son of the late Fred and Edith Cottrell Simons. He was employed and retired from Union Carbide Metal Plant at Alloy, WV. Surviving is his daughter, Delores Dorsey and husband Charles "Bud" of Ravenswood; granddaughter, Debbie Watkins and husband Jeff, Ravenswood; and great grandsons, Jordan and Jonathan Watkins of Ravenswood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Surface Simons, 4 sisters, and 5 brothers. Services were held on Tuesday, May 17, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Reverend Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Clover Cemetery, Spencer, WV.
