Max Edward Hill, Sr., age 53, of Racine, Ohio, died July 23, 2001, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV. He was born in Mason, WV, on July 5, 1948, a son of Clifford Hill and Pauline Theiss Hill. He was the Owner/Operator of Key Motors, Pomeroy, Ohio; member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2171, Pomeroy, Ohio; member of the IHRA and NHRA; former Owner/Operator of Max Hill's Country Corvettes; former Owner/Operator of Max Hill Trucking; he was kind-hearted; he loved drag racing and the greatest moment of his career in drag racing was running against his son Justin in the finals. Max was a great fan of Southern Tornado basketball. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Peggy Boso Hill, Letart Falls, Ohio; sons, Max Hill, Jr., and Justin Hill, both of Letart Falls, Ohio; daughters, Crystal Turley, Racine, Ohio, and Aimee Jarrell, Letart Falls, Ohio; Mother, Pauline Hill, Letart Falls, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Kasey and Ciera Turley, Wyatt, Connor and Rylan Jarrell. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford. Services were held on Friday, July 27, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with Reverend Charlie Hargraves officiating. Burial followed in Letart Falls Cemetery, Letart Falls, Ohio. Visitation was held on Thursday, July 26, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
