According to the marriage records, Luther Cleveland Vannest who married Anna Black was the son of Luther and Martha. He was 21 and Anna was 25, both born in Jackson County. Anna was d/o Robert A & Catherine Kearns Black. Married 5 Aug 1905. There are a marriage for John Milton Vannest, 27, born Iowa, who was the s/o Luther and Martha. He married Golda Myrtle Donovan, 16, d/o Joseph M, on 17 Aug 1905. They do not appear in the 1880 Jackson County census, so you might want to check out Iowa. John, Luther jr and P M (age 40, b Ohio) are the only Vannests who appear in 1920. In the Jackson County Deaths, there is: Lutha Vanness, 9/17/1907, age 58, died Shatto, a widower. There is also a death for: David Tippens Vannest, 10/29/1947, 78y 11d, [d] Jackson Co, [b] Ohio, [p] Luther and Martha (Douglas) Vannest, farmer, married. [That calculates to his being born 18 Oct 1869] Betty
