He was born on September 9, 1935, in Morgantown, WV, a son of the late "Bud" and Vivian Scarford Stone. He was a former Casting Foreman at Kaiser Aluminum and self-employed businessman in Ravenswood for 30 years. He was an avid hunter and sportsman. He is survived by his 3 sons, Kent Stone, Wheatland, Wyoming, Rod Stone, Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Gary Stone, Colorado; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and 2 uncles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian Stone. Services were held on Friday, August 17, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, WV, with John Gunther officiating. Burial followed at Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 16, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
