Loraine G. Ellis, age 81, of Ravenswood, WV, died July 20, 2001, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, WV. She was born in Logan, WV, on April 13, 1920, a daughter of the late Charles and Mable Vaughn Small. She was a housewife, a longtime member of the Ravenswood Civic Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Ravenswood,WV. She is survived by four sons: David and Ginger Ellis, Portland, Maine; Max and Linda Ellis, Ravenswood, WV; Charles and Michele Ellis, Ravenswood, WV; and Rex Ellis, Virginia; one daughter: Diana and Tom White, Newport News, VA; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; three brothers: Wilford Small, Phoenix, AZ; Deward Small, Logan, WV; and Paul Small, Logan, WV; and one sister: Joan Kidd, Alma, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mable Small; her husband, Thurmon Ellis; and one sister, Leona Tate. Services were held on Monday, July 23, 2001, at 1:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Reverend Ronald Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 22, 2001, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
