Susan was 10 in the 1860 Jackson County census, enumerated with Hannah Moore, who was 66. In the 1880 Jackson County census, I find: Grant Dist # 370-371 Nesselrode, David M G< 53, OH Mary M, 63, wife, WV Brown, Thomas, 16, adopted son, WV Webster, Ruth, 21, adopted Dau, OH Buchannon, James M, 5, adopted son, WV Is this little guy the son of James Buchannon & Susan Moore? Hannah Moore was married to Jacob Barnhart and had a son, Jacob. His second wife was Eleanor Bridget Webster. The Ruth Webster above is, I believe, Eleanor's daughter, at least she is the right age to be. Just to show how complicated it gets, Ruth married David M G Nesselrode, her adopted father, in 1884.
