    3. Hi Betty, Thank you for the map of the Jackson Co. districts. I noted that there is/was a "Union District" in both Mason Co & Jackson Counties, VA(WV). My BAKER ancestor was purported to have come to the Union District VA(WV) before 1840 (he was born in 1806). I had always assumed that what was meant by the Union District was the district located in Mason County. However, since Jackson Co came into existence in 1831 I am now rethinking this assumption and wondering if perhaps it would be more likely correct to assume Union District, Jackson County for the time period in question. Any thoughts on this matter would be welcomed.
