I am related to Heneritta Fitzhugh Barr, she probably is a so so so so great aunt of mine. Also, I like the Civil War era very much and it is a very interesting era to study as well write about. I remember my grandmother telling me that in the Fitzhugh family that the boys were named Henry for Henry Fitzhugh and the girls were named Heneritta for Henry Fitzhugh. Charlotte, who is in charge of the Fitzhugh genealogy, emailed me and she told me that a researcher in England has concluded that William Fitzhugh, the immigrant, was married to a lady, who was named, Elizabeth, shortly before he sailed for Virginia, and no one knows what really happened, but it is very possible that the same Elizabeth later on married a Mr. Thorton, that is very interesting. I got my Kemp line back to Daniel L. Kemp, who was born in Virginia in 1801 and he was married on August 29, 1825 in Fauquier County, Virginia to Letticia Roach, that is how far back I got it. I found out that Sarah Letticia Kemp, who was the wife of George Nicholas Fitzhugh, had two brothers, Daniel L. Kemp and Thomas B. Kemp, and they were both veterans of the Civil War. Really the Civil War was fought for states rights not too free the slaves, and I think that President Lincoln was really a scapegoat for the abolionists. Really the Empanciation Proclamation was really a joke, and gave the former slaves really nothing. BUt the SOUTH HAS RISEN AGAIN, look who is the stronger in the country. Have a Happy Fourth of July, and thank you so very much for telling me about that site and I will certainly visit it tonight. Thank you very much, MIss Kitty Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
