He was born on January 10, 1943, in Ravenswood, a son of the late William Paul and Elma Imogene Riggs Williams. He was a Store Room Foreman at Pechiney Rolled Products in Ravenswood. He was a member of Ripley VFW Post 5501, Pt. Pleasant Moose Lodge 731, American Legion Post 118, and the Jackson County Marine League. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Surviving are his children, William E. Williams, Ravenswood; James K. Williams and wife Billie Joe, Ravenswood; John P. Williams, Morgantown, WV; James Paul Williams II, Australia; and Kimberly A. Williams, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kylie Paige Spencer, Levi and Damian Morriston; sister, Patty Cather, Ravenswood; stepbrother, Mike McCroskey; sister-in-law, Delores Williams, Millwood; cousins, Ronnie and Carla Williams; and several other close relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eyla; brother, Roger; and sister, Brenda. Services were held on Thursday, June 16, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with Reverend Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Ravenswood Cemetery, with graveside military rites provided by Ravenswood VFW post 6669. Friends visited the funeral home on Wednesday, June 15, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ravenswood VFW Post 6669, c/o Lewis Ressegger, 508 Kaiser Avenue, Ravenswood, WV 26164; or the Pt.
