Hi Bette, The only Baker death that I see in the records before 1865 is for a daughter of Elijah and Nancy BAKER. Madelfina BAKER, died 12/31/1856 at the age of 1y, 4m. Anyone with the Cow Run History have any information on what happened to the Furget Family? Is there anyone on this list that tie's in with the Furget family? What happened to them? Or did they all die without issue? (other than Margret) Surly there are some cousins out there with the Furget name from Jackson Co, or Mason, right on the county line very close to Cow Run.??? In 1870 and 1880, he is living with John McD and Margaret Anderson Casto, in 1880, he is listed as nephew. Margaret was William's sister. I have him as the son of William Anderson and Nancy Elizabeth Harper. William was born about 1820 in Botetourt Co, VA, son of Alexander Anderson and Catherine Rhodes, and married three times, with each wife being an Elizabeth (Webb, m 2/27/1840 JCMR), (Harper-Hargus m 6/19/1856, RCMR) or Eliza (Harper-Taylor m 12/6/1866 RCMR), so it's not easy to figure them out, considering the way Elizabeth was sometimes shortened to Eliza or Eliz on the census records, etc. Elizabeth Webb died before the 1850 census, and William and his son, Alexander age 6, are found living with his uncle, Alexander Rhodes in Jackson Co. 2 of his children, George, age 5, and Martha, age 4, are living with his sister, Margaret Anderson Casto, who is married to John M.D. Casto. His daughter Emily, age 9, is living with John's brother David L Casto. Emily's marriage record shows her parents as William and Elizabeth. George's death record shows he was son of William and Elizabeth. I have nothing else on Martha, and am assuming that she is George's little sister. She probably died young. That gives us 4 children for wife one, Elizabeth Webb. William remarried to Nancy Elizabeth Harper, the widow of Samuel Hargus and in 1860 Roane Co, he has a stepson Andrew (Hargus), age 11, listed with him as well as 2 daughters, Jane age 3, and Frances, age 1. Children by Elizabeth Webb in 1860 are found: Alexander, age 16, is living with Alexander Harper, brother of his stepmother. EV (Emily), age 19, is living with Martin Crites and listed as a domestic, and George, age 15, is living with Uncle Alexander Rhodes in Jackson Co. Nancy Elizabeth Harper Hargus Anderson died 4/19/1866 in Roane County, and in 1870, William is married again, and as in the 1860 census, his children are not living with him. There is a birth record in Roane Co for William M, 11/10/1860, to William and Elizabeth. In 1870, William M is living with Mathias and Martha Rhodes in Roane Co. Also in Roane Co in 1870 are EJ Anderson, age 12, living with Nathan and Sarah Harper Westfall (Sarah is Nancy Elizabeth's sister) who I believe is Elizabeth Jane; and M A Anderson, age 7, living with Rachel Harper, who was Nancy Elizabeth's mother. I believe she is Alice. In Jackson Co in 1870, Alfred, age 4, is living with John MD and Margaret Anderson Casto. That makes 5 children for wife two, Nancy Elizabeth Harper. On 12/6/1866, in Roane Co, William married Eliza Harper, widow of Charles W Taylor. In 1870, her Taylor children are living with them, and one new son John W, born 12/1867. Another son was born to them 9/9/1869 and must have died, and the 1880 census shows another son, Perry A, age 10. The 1900 census shows Perry was born 12/1871. Eliza is living with her children and William is living with his son Alexander, so they are separated, but listed as married. Also, in 1880, Allis Anderson, age 18, is living with Henderson Harper, who was Nancy Elizabeth's brother. I am assuming she was the MA, age 7, who was living with Rachel Harper in 1870, and therefore, probably Nancy Elizabeth's daughter. William, age 19, is living with Nathan and Sarah Westfall, his aunt.
