I believe them to be of my Great Grandparents, Joseph Crane and Lula Baker both born in Jackson County. There are also two other couples, older than my great grandparents (who appear about 20-ish at the time of the photos). I think they are their parents, and would appreciate help identifying them. The genealogy goes like this: Lula Elizabeth Baker was the child of Franklin Pierce Baker and Mollie Alice Stout. Mollie's Parents were Thomas Stout and Minerva Casto. Franklin's parents were Elijah Baker and Nancy Wolfe. Joseph C. Crane was the child of George Crane and Elizabeth (Betty) Casto. I know nothing of George's family. Elizabeth's parents were Abraham Casto and Rebecca Crites. I have tentatively identified the people in the photos as being: Joseph Crane Lula Baker Crane George and Elizabeth (Casto) Crane Franklin and Mollie Alice (Stout) Baker. I also have a photo of them in front of their house in Jackson County. I don't know if the home is still there or not, but I though it might be worth a try to see if someone recognizes it. If anyone has a common ancestor and would like to see these photos, I can scan them to you. If you have identified photos of the people I am trying to identify, I would greatly appreciate your help. I have just received from a relative a partial copy of an obituary from a newspaper. I do not know which newspaper and either does she, but I was wondering if anyone may have access to archives from which I may obtain a full copy? I am sure it would be either Ripley or Gay area newspaper. The copy appears to have been in two columns, the first column which has the bottom portion torn off. However it reads as follows: OBITUARY - HARMON Clarissa Jain Cain was born Oct. 11, 1845 in Noble County, Ohio, and departed this life at her home near Gay, W. Va, on Feb. 2, 1931. Age 85 years, 3 months and 21 days. She was united in marriage Aug. 13, 1864 to Thomas Harmon and to this union was born fourteen children, of whom five died in infancy, and Charles Wesley the oldest son in 1916. The first column continues for 2 more paragraphs before it is torn off. the second column starts as: ed at the Mt. Olive church in charge of Rev. C G Knapp assisted by Rev. E H Ritchie. ............. Bruce Blake was b. Aug. 22, 1882 and d.Apr.8, 1967, in Fayette Co., WV. I can trace him back to Jasper Blake who immigrated to New England in about 1647, through his great grandson, Theophilus Blake, b.1722, NH; d. abt 1797, Bath Co., VA. Bruce m. Martha Ellen Pratt, b. Dec. 20, 1890; d. Oct. 4, 1975, dau. of David Alexander Pratt and Emily Leanna Ward. I have one child, Bonnie Lee Blake, b. Oct. 11, 1930. She married a Mr. Harper and was living at 473 Richard lane, Cincinnati, 45244 in 1985.

Mary Green was daughter of Leonard Green of Jackson Co. WV. A.J. Hall was believed to have been born or lived in Serbia, WV at a young age. He was a mail carrier for many years, lived in Braxton and Nicholas Counties, was buried at Poplar Ridge. Believe George W. Hall died and is buried at Poplar Ridge.
