    3. I am search for information on the ancestors and descendants of WILLIAM TAYLOR (1845-1917) married to ALICE NANCY RILEY (1856-1931) on Dec. 25, 1881 in Ripley, Jackson Co. Their children as listed in the 1910 Ripley District Census were: CECIL (1894-1958), WALTER, JOSEPHINE, WILLIE, RUFUS (1895-1918), VELMA and NELLIE (my grandmother- 1901-1977). I know that as a young man William and his family came from Virginia - his parents were JOSEPH TAYLOR and ELIZA JANE ARCHEY, d/o JOSEPH ARCHEY of Bath co., Virginia. They were married in 1845. I don't know what became of the Taylor family, besides my grandmother of course. She married ALFRED STEBBINS in Detroit in 1928 and they had one child, my Dad Eugene in 1929. If anyone can shed some light on the Taylor family, I'd appreciate the help! Thanks. --- --- phassp@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.

    1. [WVJackson] William G Ayres
    2. Betty Briggs
    3. In looking through a listing of the wills in Jackson Co, I see there is an Inventory of Personal Property of William G Ayres, Deceased, appraised 14 May 1848. Next is the Inventory of Money, Bonds, Notes & Accounts Received by Robert McGriffin belinging to the Estate of William G Ayres, which reads like the census or Who's Who of the county at the time! No kidding, there were Notes on close to 100 people and accounts with about 80, many names being on both lists. Who was this man? I looked in Jackson County Past and Present and there are only 3 mentions of the name Ayres. Thanks, Betty
